A Note From the Class:
The spirit of a new play festival is one in which breathes new ideas, new life, and renewed energy into our community. Our students spent this semester focused on doing just that! Brainstorming and working together to focus their energy in creating new work. What you will see today, or tonight will only be a mere fraction of the work that was ultimately created. For you see, they wrote far more than you will see performed in this showing. The plays and pieces that they spent the semester workshopping and crafting and cutting slowly were whittled down to the pieces that lay before you now, honed to perfection with love and care by the makers that present them for you today or tonight. We hope you enjoy what has been distilled by these students and hope you can understand that what was written and breathed into this room was brought about for a reason. These students found purpose through these pieces, be them comedic or dramatic, horrific or humorous, real or fantastic…they spoke to us. And we hope you find something amongst them that speaks to you too. Enjoy.
